Pastors Equipping Others for the Workplace David Frech of Church of the Harvest in Olathe (right)Troy Campbell of New Life Ministries in downtown Kansas City (left) At the FIRE in the Workplace Banquet we  celebrated two pastors who have been equipping and encouraging the saints to live out their faith in their workplace. Both of these pastors came to the city about fifteen years ago. Both became church planters, Troy in an urban setting and David in the suburbs.

Our next story is about a doctor who asked God at 12 years old what she was to do with her life.   At that time she believed the answer would involve theater or music, but instead God made it clear that she was to be a doctor.

FIRE Banquet - Relationships in the Workplace - Sheri Rehmer In the FIRE acronym, the R stands for relationships, with God and with others. Jesus proclaimed that the two greatest commandments are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul and to love others as ourselves. In college, Sheri was invited to a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle meeting that changed her perspective on religion and her life.

Faith in the Workplace - Randy Reinhardt, Zephyr Products Inc. Faith is a word with a variety of meanings. At the FIRE in the Workplace Banquet we highlighted the kind of faith that flows out of obedience to God in unconventional ways.

Many business leaders eventually come to understand God’s design and plan for their personal vocation, but few take it to the next level of trying to transform the culture of their business to be more in line with God’s values and design. Fewer still ever consider the fact that God has given them influence over an entire industry. Bobby Albert is one of those few.

We support the ministry of the Integrity Resource Center because my wife and I firmly believe in integrating our faith into the workplace. God has placed us in educational institutions to be used by Him to live out biblical principles in our daily life. The Integrity Resource Center provides a community of encouragement and resources to do this. We joyfully support its work!

How do you live your faith at work? What works well? What gets in the way?

After spending time in the offices of Debbie and Dave, a couple who own a local small business, I’m excited to share a little bit of their story, with their permission of course! Debbie read our daily “Integrity Moments” for years. During a tough time in business, Debbie discovered our “FIRE Assessment” tool.

I’ve counseled many business leaders faced with an avalanche of debt. Their businesses were threatened. In some cases, their families were jeopardized.

Has God ever called you to serve in a place that didn’t make sense? That’s the way I felt when I was invited to teach at the prison in Lansing, Kansas. It didn’t seem to fit Integrity Resource Center’s purpose of building integrity and faith into the workplace.
